CERRIX enlists Fortino Capital to fuel ambitious European growth.

Apr. 25th, 2024

The Hague/Amsterdam, April 25, 2024 – Fortino Capital, the European investor specializing in B2B software and ICT, today announces its investment in CERRIX, a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) software company. CERRIX, a fast-growing Dutch company headquartered in The Hague, serves 14,000 users in more than 20 countries, boasting an annual growth rate of more than 40%.

CERRIX was established in 2014 by founder and CEO Paul Bruggeman. They specialize in helping businesses manage risk with their proprietary software platform. The demand for CERRIX's software continues to grow. Well managed companies take into account increasing risks and regulations (DORA, GDPR, AI-act, NIS2, ESG etc.). Their compliance and correct application is mandatory by law, and CERRIX’s software ensures that the entire organization and primary processes function as they should. CERRIX simplifies and optimizes a complex task.

CERRIX is well represented in the financial sector, which is traditionally highly regulated. Its software is used by banks, insurance companies, pension funds and accountants, with renowned clients such as a.s.r., de Goudse, Grand Thornton, BDO and the pension funds of Heineken, ABN-AMRO and Ahold-Delhaize. The social relevance of CERRIX’s work cannot be underestimated as their clients manage over 850 billion euros in assets in a transparent manner. Gradually CERRIX is moving into other sectors as well.

Fortino Capital, alongside existing shareholders, invests in CERRIX to further its growth and expand internationally. Fortino not only serves as a sounding board for the founder and his team but actively supports further internationalization with its expertise in growing companies. In addition to organic growth, active consideration is given to growth through acquisitions. For Fortino, this marks the 5th platform investment in its Growth Private Equity Fund II.

Paul Bruggeman, Founder of CERRIX, remarked, "We are entering the next phase of our company's development. Our team has been able to build state-of-the-art software that enables the various GRC stakeholders within an organization to collaborate efficiently and quickly understand risk profiles. To meet the high market demand, we need to strengthen CERRIX. We are convinced that with Fortino we have found a partner who shares our vision and ambitions and can bring a lot of knowledge and experience through its portfolio of SaaS companies.”

Paul Bruggeman, Founder of CERRIX

Jeroen Van Godtsenhoven, Partner at Fortino Capital, commented, "We believe there are tremendous opportunities in the GRC software market. CERRIX's technology meets the highest standards and provides a strong foundation to create a lot of significant value for its users. We are excited about this investment and have high expectations."
