Miguel Martins appointed CEO of Cabovisão and ONI

Lisbon (Portugal), April 7, 2016 – Following the acquisition of Cabovisão and ONI by Apax France and Fortino Capital, the Board of Directors appointed Miguel Veiga Martins as the Group’s Chief Executive Officer. He will assume the group’s executive management functions on the 9th of May.

Miguel Veiga Martins brings to Cabovisão and ONI a broad range of skills. He has an extensive technological background which will help accelerate innovation and his renowned leadership capability will be essential to develop a solid performance driven organization and a strong commitment to the success of his customers.

With a vast experience in the business and retail telecom industry, Miguel Veiga Martins was Vice President of the Board and Chief Technology Officer of NOS, the communications and entertainment group in Portugal. He has a proven track record of achieving notably the merger between mobile operator Optimus and cable operator Zon.

Formerly Chief Executive Officer of Unitel, the largest mobile operator in Angola, with over 10 million customers, Miguel Veiga Martins completely redefined the offering, Go-to-Market, and streamlined operations and processes of the company.
Graduated in telecommunications engineering, Miguel Veiga Martins spent almost 10 years at Vodafone where he served as General Director for Network Engineering & Operations and Chief Technology Officer of Vodafone Portugal, then of Vodafone Internet Services in the UK.
