Spott raises $3.2 Million to bolster its AI-native recruitment platform
Leuven Belgium/San Francisco, Ca – 28 May, 2025 – Spott, an operating platform for recruitment agencies, has completed a $3.2 million funding round led by Base10 Partners, with participation from Y Combinator, Fortino Capital, True Equity and various angel investors.
The funding will accelerate the company's progress towards building an all-in-one, AI-native platform to manage everything but the human aspect of the recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing to screening and placement.
Spott recently completed Y Combinator’s program as part of the W25 batch.
“For too long, recruitment firms have relied on outdated software to manage daily operations. These systems track candidate data, but fail their users in one crucial task: making their lives easier,” said Lander Degreve, Co-founder and CEO at Spott. “The rise of AI presents an opportunity for a fundamental shift in how recruiting technology should work. It enables recruiters to shift their focus from manual, repetitive tasks to building stronger relationships and prioritize revenue-driving activities instead.”

Since its inception, Spott has been automating time-consuming recruitment workflows, such as the writing of candidate presentation reports, and has recently started paid trials with industry leaders such as Stanton Chase. Now, the platform is evolving further by bringing together everything recruiting firms need — from AI agents to a fully-fledged ATS and CRM and actionable analytics — into one single, AI-native platform.
The company has already generated over 1,000 candidate profiles for its growing list of customers.
"Spott helps us to automatically format CVs and generate tailor-made presentations in our own template, which saves a lot of time and manual work," said Niels Decklerck, Group IT Director, Pauwels Solutions Group. “On top of that, the team is great to work with.”
While working for management consulting firms such as McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, and Bain & Company, Spott’s co-founders experienced firsthand how recruiters wrestled with outdated, clunky systems. They realized that talent moves through conversations, not spreadsheets, yet recruiters were stuck logging conversations and updating records instead of driving results.
Over the past two years, AI tools have flooded the market, each solving a single problem but creating a bigger one in the process: fragmentation.
“The most common question we’ve heard since starting Spott has consistently been “is it integrated?”, noted Manu Vanderveeren, Spott COO & Co-Founder. “From day one, we’ve felt the frustration of poorly connected software and the adoption challenges of stand-alone AI tools, and we are looking to change that.”

Spott takes a different path. Instead of juggling separate tools, recruiters get one powerful, integrated platform built around AI to focus on the most important parts of their jobs. By eliminating redundant single point solutions, Spott reduces costs, saves time switching between systems, enhances data operability and enables AI-driven automation of end-to-end workflows.
“AI is rapidly becoming foundational to B2B SaaS, and we’re true believers that AI-embedded workflows tailored to specific verticals will define the next generation of software. Spott’s vision to unify ATS, CRM, and intelligent automation into a single AI-native platform is a bold vision we bought into. We’re excited to support Manu, Lander and Samuel as they build toward a future where recruiters can spend less time on busy work and more time on what truly drives placements,” said Filip Van Innis, Partner at Fortino Capital.
