Fortino and Apax acquire Cabovisão and ONI from Altice

Fortino Capital has joined Apax Partners France in its acquisition of Cabovisão and ONI, the two former Portuguese subsidiaries of the Altice Media and Telecoms group.

Cabovisao is the second-largest cable operator in Portugal, with more than 900,000 homes passed and around 200,000 subscribers. It offers pay TV, internet and fixed telephony services to consumers. As part of the acquisition, both companies have entered into a MVNO agreement with MEO.

ONI is one of the leading telecoms operators in Portugal offering high en voice and data services, dedicated to corporate customers.

The transaction was closed on Jan. 29, 2016.
